Differentiation was the key to Generic’s success in the competitive European market. The company decided to adopt a young and vibrant brand identity which would symbolise the spirit of the company. With KISKA’s help, Generic established a single brand voice across different markets and projected a credible and desirable image that would attract dealers and protect the company against price-driven competition.

Background

Generic Motors is an ambitious young Austrian start-up that has come from nowhere to shake-up the competitive and established European scooter market. Its simple but proven business model is to purchase cost-effective technology from China and enhance it with European design. The result is a range of scooters, motorcycles and quad bikes that combine fashion, performance and value.

Approach

When KISKA began to work with Generic, the first priority was to realise its business concept. To do this the project team used KISKA’s Integrated Design Development (IDD) approach, a blend of understanding, creativity and analysis that brings client and design closer together and delivers exciting results. During this stage KISKA defined the best product platforms for the European market created a brand image that expressed the vision of the company and its products, and advised on how to bring the Generic brand image to market.
