StreetStepper
Background
Start-up manufacturer Graditech came to KISKA with its patented idea and asked us to help it launch a new ‘outdoor fitness device’, because of KISKA’s approach and years of experience in developing sports motorcycles.
Approach
The priorities of the KISKA design development team were to emphasise the StreetStepper’s unique drive system and to differentiate it from conventional bikes and scooters. The KISKA team researched and developed a new frame that would accentuate the proven traction system, with a unique style and colour to emphasise the product’s modern character.
Result
The StreetStepper is a completely new mode of transport which cleverly combines mobility with fitness. Its step levers operate independently, and the upright riding position is comfortable from the word go. The design language reflects the user-orientated approach of this totally new mode of transport.
Benefit
The second generation StreetStepper was launched at Eurobike in September 2009 and sold out immediately. Graditech subsequently received several requests from across Europe. The new StreetStepper appeals to top athletes and several professionals use it in their training plans. According to Dr. Andrea Mayr, Austrian marathon record holder and world champion in mountain running, “I first used the StreetStepper to prepare for the Vienna City Marathon – a cool mode of transport and a great exercise apparatus at the same time. StreetStepping has long been an integral part of my training plan!”
